Aestetic of disturbance, Cultural Rhythms  as historical traces of the Avant-Garde

Lecture

Maska Ljubljana, Cankarjev dom and University of Ljubljana -  Academy of Theater, Radio, Film and Television invite you to the first public lecture at this year's seminar for contemporary performing arts.

Starting with Robert Rauschenbergs R.O.C.I.-Project, John Cages Concept of “Silence” and Nam June Paiks „Electronic Rituals for the 21st century“, those experiments of avant-garde artists will be emphasised which refer on the one hand to instruments (apparatuses, machines), on the other to rituals (movement techniques, behavioural patterns). Playing a central role hereby is a concept of “cultural rhythm”, which could contribute to illuminating the current interplay of local and global developments and this against the background of long term cultural historical processes.
