Rok Vevar: Relationship performance - spectator

A public lecture at seminar for contemporary performing arts.

Theoretician, critic and writer Rok Vevar will in his the lecture outline some of the basic models of thinking about the relationship between the performance and the spectator. He will use examples form the movies, such as “Blow Up” by Michelangelo Antonoini, “Rear Window” by Alfred Hitchcock, “Targets” by Peter Bogdanovich and “Deconstructing Harry” by Woody Allen to illustrate these models, which he will then apply and develop on some classical, contemporary and paradigmatic works in performing arts. In the lecture Rok Vevar will try to sum up some of the basic starting points and principles he developed in his essays and critical writings when dealing with the relationship between the performance and the spectator in the last year and a half.
