The performance "Signature Event Context" by Janez Janša, Janez Janša, Janez Janša has been conjunctively CANCELLED by the director of transmediale Stephen Kovats and the Guest-Curator of the exhibition CONSPIRE… Nataša Petrešin-Bachelez. Consequently, Janez Janša, Janez Janša and Janez Janša anticipated the date of the action performing "Signature Event Context" on January 28, 2008 at 00.01 am

”By definition, a written signature implies the actual or empirical nonpresence of the signer. But, it will be said, it also marks and retains his having-been present in a past now, which will remain a future now, and therefore in a now in general, in the transcendental form of nowness (maintenance). With their second performance at transmediale, 'Program! 8: Signature' in Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Janša, Janša and Janša further reflect status of a signature in art. Their live signing of each copy of the transmediale publication at the pages which are usually used for reproductions of artists' works, inaugurates a signature itself as an original art piece and as its reproduction at the same time. Individual signing of each of 1000 copies of the transmediale publication turns the book itself into a place of performance, performance as the place which can leave only traces of its disappearance.

The documentation of "Signature, Event, Context" was to be displayed at the Transmediale exhibition CONSPIRE... guest curated by Nataša Petrešin-Bachelez. Transmediale.08 - CONSPIRE... is lead by the new artistic director Stephen Kovats.

A lecture on the work of Janez Janša, Janez Janša and Janez Janša by the curator Marko Stamenković will be a part of the Transmediale lectures and discusions (Bilderberg Salon). A lecture titled UNBOUNDED, IMMEASURABLE: (radical) democracy, nation-state, sovereignty, monstrous citizenship… will take place on january 31.
